On line applications have been invited for admission to the B.Ed. course (under self –financing scheme) in the Calicut University Teacher Education Centres, at Vatakara, Chakkittapara,Calicut, Kaniyambetta, Sulthan Bathery, Manjeri, Malappuram, Koduvayur (Palakkad), Aranattukara (Thrissur), Valapad and Nattika, for the year 2011-12, in the following optional subjects:

Eligibility:
I. For optional except Commerce and Computer Science Education:
i) BA/B.Sc. Degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto under 10+2+3 pattern with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks for Part-I, II, and III put together. However, BA/B.Com degree holders under Liberalized Scheme of this University are eligible to apply, provided they are otherwise eligible.
ii) SC/ST candidates, natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under Teacher Quota need only a pass in the Degree examination.
iii) Relaxation of 5% marks for OEC and 3% for OBC candidates will be allowed from the minimum required marks i.e, OEC candidates need only 45% (Part-1, II & III) and OBC candidates 47% (Part-1, II & III) of marks.

II. For Commerce optional:
i) Candidates should have passed M.Com Degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 50% marks.
ii) SC/ST candidates, natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under Teacher Quota need a mere pass in the qualifying examination.
iii) Relaxation of 5% marks for OEC and 3% for OBC candidates will be allowed from the minimum required marks i.e. OEC candidates need 45% and OBC candidates 47% of marks.

III. For Computer Science Education optional:
i) Candidates should have passed MCA/MSc.Computer Science/MSc Electronics of the University of Calicut or a Degree recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 50% marks
ii) SC/ST candidates, natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under teacher quota need a mere pass in the qualifying examination.
iii) Relaxation of 5% marks for OEC and 3% for OBC candidates will be allowed from the minimum required marks i.e. OEC candidates need 45% and OBC candidates 47% of marks

1. Candidates are directed to apply through online only
2. Candidates need submit only one application.
3. If any candidate who is provisionally selected, fail to report to the officer concerned on or before the specified date & time his/her selection will be cancelled without any further intimation.
4. Filled in application with chalan receipt for Rs.100/- towards cost of application (Rs. 50/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) should reach the Office of the Director of University Teacher Education Centres, Department of Education, University of Calicut,Calicut University P.O Malappuram District, PIN - 673 635 on or before 20th August 2011.5. Fee can be remitted at:
