Central Hindi Directorate invites applications  from Non-Hindi speaking Indians, Foreigners and NRIs for admission to the following Hindi Correspondence Courses:

1. Certificate Course in Hindi (Preliminary Course/Middle Level)

Eligibility1. Certificate Course in Hindi -
(1) Indians whose mother tongue is not Hindi and who have attained the minimum age of 15 years as on 1.7.2011.

(2) Foreigners/Indian Nationals/Settlers residing abroad the minimum age of 10 as on 1/7/2011 irrespective of their mother tongue.

2. Diploma Course in Hindi - Subsequent to the Certificate Course is open to those who fulfill (I) above and have either passed Certificate Course conducted by Central Hindi Directorate or who possess sufficient background of Hindi or who have appeared in Certificate Course Examination in May 2011.

3. Advance Diploma Course in Hindi - It is open to all Indians and foreigners residing in India or abroad whose mother tongue is not Hindi. Minimum age limit for admission as on 1/7/2011 is 17 years.

How To Apply
Fee for Certificate / Diploma Course in Hindi.

A fee of Rs. 50/- from candidate residing in India and US Dollars $ 50 or Pound 30 or equivalent to Indian currency from candidate residing abroad is charged for each course.

Fee for Advance Diploma Course in Hindi

(1) Candidate residing in India - Rs. 200/-
(2) Candidate residing abroad - US$ Dollars 200 or Pound 120.
Where Dollar or Pound is not a currency then equivalent to the currency of the concerned country will be accepted. Fee can be remitted by crossed Postal Order or Bank Draft in favour of the Director, Central Hindi Directorate, payable at New Delhi.

Fee sent through Money Order or Chegue is not acceptable. Application without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected.

In case an applicant residing abroad finds it difficult to remit fee in hard currency on account of local foreign exchange restrictions, he/she is advised to deposit the fee in equivalent local currency with Indian Mission / Embassy in the country where he/she is residing and send us the receipt in Original.

The receipt must bear the name of the candidate and the amount equivalent to Indian currency.

The closing date for submission of filled up application forms along with fee is 15/08/2011. However, the session will start from 1/7/2011 .The applications may also be submitted at E-mail address dd.cc.chd@gmail.com

The Scholarship:  Successful candidates will be eligible to receive a scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- (Rs. six thousand only) per month, during their two-year (one-year if the student is granted the scholarship during the second year) M.A. / M. Sc. programme. The scholarships are sanctioned for one year at a time and are renewable at the end of the year, subject to satisfactory progress. Students who are in M.Sc. (Part-I) or in the fifth year of a 5 year integrated M.Sc. course will get the scholarship only for one year.

To avail of the scholarship the students have to be enrolled in an appropriate institution, in India, for an M.A. / M.Sc. degree in Mathematics. The scholarship will be paid through the institution they join.

Eligibility: Applicants must be B. A. / B. Sc. first class degree holders, or students, who have appeared for B. A. / B. Sc. final year examination and expect a bachelors degree with first class,
ORB.Sc. (honours) degree holders with at least second class, or students who have appeared for B. Sc. (honours) final year examination and expect a B. Sc. (honours) degree with at least second class. 

Students who have completed three years of an integrated M. Sc. course with cumulative grades equivalent to first class are eligible to apply.

Students with good academic record and who are in M.Sc. (Part-I) or in the fifth year of a 5 year integrated M.Sc. course are also eligible to apply.
 
Age: Applicants should be below the age of 23 years as on January 1, 2011. Exceptional cases, however, may be considered on merit.

Selection Process: Selection will be made on the basis of a written test followed by interview of short-listed candidates.The questions will be primarily in the areas of Algebra, Analysis and Geometry. The test will be for two and half hours and involve questions with short answers.

invited for filling up fourteen (14) vacancies of Lower Division Clerk (Group-C) in the revised pay structure
of Rs. 5200-20200+1900 Grade Pay plus allowances  in different offices of ESI Corporation in Himachal
Pradesh Region  as admissible to Central Government employees.
Lower Division Examination will consist of two parts viz.:

Part I : The written test will consist of one paper of 200 marks containing four  Parts  (i )
English Language,  (ii) General Intelligence & General Aptitude (iii) Numerical Aptitude &
(iv) General Awareness.  Each question shall carry one mark. The questions in all the four
parts will  be of objective type (multiple choice) ones.  The examination will be of 3 (three )
hours duration.
Part:II : Skill Test: The Corporation reserves the right to admit only that much candidates as
considered necessary by it for skill test in knowledge of  Computer including use of Office
suites and data bases with typing speed of 40 words per minute in English or 35 words per
minute in Hindi , based on the performance of candidates in Part-I written test.

NIOS Called application..




National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) online admission for April 2011-12 is going on. Fresh students can apply for NIOS on line admission session stream-1 Block- I for April 2012 examinations.

NIOS online admission April 2011-12 is open for new learners for April 2012 examinations. NIOS online admission 10th April 2011 requires an attested copy of birth certificate issued by the Municipal Authority or District Office of the Registrar along with SLC. You need to attach a photocopy of residence proof also for NIOS online admission Secondary April 2011. Minimum age should be 14 years.

NIOS online admission 12th April 2011 requires attested copy of certificate of secondary examination. Age should be minimum 15 years for NIOS online admission Sr. Secondary April 2011.

Fee Structure for Stream 1 of NIOS Online Admission (Without Late Fee):

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, India in collaboration with the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), South Asia Office in New Delhi is organizing the Science Olympiad 2011 for the South Asian Countries. The purpose of the Science Olympiad is to search the science talent in all SAARC countries.
The Test for Science Olympiad will be conducted on  2-Tier basis.
1.             First Tier test:  
·         The First Tier test shall be taken by all participants in the respective centres chosen by them.
·      This First Tier test is an objective test for 3 hrs with equal weight for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in terms of test time and marks.
·         It is made up of multiple choice questions with varying degree of simplicity/ hardness.
·         The test will focus on the general but deep understanding of subject materials and comprehension.
·         The test items will be thought provoking.
·         There will be negative marking for wrong choices.
·         Answers are to be marked on OMR sheets for ready reckoning of marks.
2.      Second Tier Test:
·         From among the participants the top (about  40 meritorious students from all SAARC countries) will take the second Tier test by being invited to Delhi.
·         It will test the participant’s higher level of understanding and problem solving capability.
·         Each question may take 5-10 minutes again with equal weight for M,P,C,B.
·         Also there will be a question on broader understanding of science and society, which is restricted to 10-15 minutes.
·         The total duration for this test will be 3 hrs
·         This test will be held in IGNOU, New Delhi.
3.             The test material i.e. syllabus is given in detail as part of this website
4.             Medium of Test :  The medium of objective and written test will be English.

Applications are invited for the BA/B.Com Open Stream Entrance Examination 2011 conducted by School of Distance Education, Calicut University.  The degree course is under CCSS Pattern.
           This scheme is mainly to envisage facility for those persons who could not undergo the regular college course due to various reasons and who eagerly aspire to acquire a Degree.  No basic educational qualification is insisted for admission to the course through the open stream.  The applicants have to appear for an entrance examination and only those who secure a minimum of 35% marks in the examination are admitted to the Degree programme. The course is conducted as per the UGC Act 1956 notification No.F.1-117/83(cp)
dated, 28.11.1985.
1. Eligibility :- All those who have attained the age of 18 years by the first day of July during the year of admission are eligible to apply for the entrance examination.
2.How to apply :- Students desirous of joining the Degree course have to submit application online. For access to online application, visit the home page of website www.universityofcalicut.info and click the link, “Open Stream Entrance Examination 2011”.  Before filling the application form the recent passport size photograph be scanned and kept in JPEG format.  Remit the fee by chalan/DD (Outside Kerala) towards the application fee.  Photo in the printout of the application should be attested by Gazetted Officer.  The printout, alongwith chalan/DD (Outside Kerala), attested copies of documents proving Date of Birth, Caste (if SC/ST) should be submitted to the Director,  School of Distance Education in any of the manner given below and obtain study material and question bank.  Candidates should keep the online Reg.No. for the purpose of downloading the Hall ticket.

USIEF announces 2012 fulbright awards in teaching programme....

Program Description
The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching program, sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, recognizes and encourages excellence in teaching in the U.S. and abroad. It is part of the overall Fulbright Program, named in honor of Senator William Fulbright, which promotes mutual understanding among people of the United States and other countries. The program will send highly accomplished primary to secondary school teachers from the U.S. abroad and bring international teachers to the U.S for a semester-long program. For international teachers, the program is open to teachers from Argentina, India, Israel, Finland, Mexico, Morocco, Singapore and South Africa.
Selected international participants will be placed at a U.S. host university with a respected School of Education from late August to mid-December, 2012. The host university will provide a broad range of resources in the teachers' fields of teaching expertise. The participants will enroll in advanced undergraduate or graduate level classes, team-teach in local schools and/or conduct seminars or workshops for U.S. teachers; and engage in other teaching related activities. During the program Distinguished Teachers will work toward the completion of an action-based research project of their own design. Upon returning home, teachers will be expected to share knowledge and experience gained on the program with teachers and students in their home schools and with their communities.

Grant Benefits
Round-trip economy airfare for the participant 
Room and board for the entire grant period 
Maintenance allowance designed to assist with the costs of food and lodging during the U.S. program 
Distinguished Teachers will also have the opportunity to apply for professional enrichment funds to support development, research, or cover expenses of attending a conference or workshop related to their fields of teaching expertise 
Dependents may accompany program participants. No allowance or travel is provided for dependents. Participants with accompanying dependents will need to demonstrate adequate personal funds to support their stay in the U.S.
Application Procedure 
  Applicants who wish to obtain the relevant application form through e-mail (as an attachment in MS Word format) may send a request to ip@usief.org.in, specifying Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program in the subject line.
Application form can also be obtained in person from a USIEF office. If making a request by mail, send a self-addressed stamped (Rs.45) A4 envelope to the USIEF office in your region. 
All applications, hand delivered or posted, must reach the USIEF, Fulbright House, 12 Hailey Road, New Delhi 110001, no later than October 1, 2011. Please write ATTN: Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching on the envelope.
Selection Procedure and Timeline
Any changes in the dates below will be posted at the USIEF office as well as the USIEF website.

3. Screening of applications:                    end October 2011
4.  Call letters for interviews to
     short-listed candidates:                      end October 2011
5. National Interviews in Delhi:                 early December 2011

Fellows will be selected through a merit-based open competition. After the application deadline, USIEF will review all eligible applications. Short listed candidates will be interviewed by a committee in New Delhi which will select nominees whose names will be forwarded to Washington DC for further consideration. Nominees will be required to take the TOEFL examination. Final selections will be made by an independent, U.S.-based selection committee, consisting of program alumni, teachers, and administrators, that will review applications from all participating countries. The Committee will evaluate candidates for their professional qualifications, motivation, seriousness of purpose, adaptability, and commitment to the program as evidenced in their written applications, particularly the action-based research project proposal. The Committee then recommends selected applications for further consideration and approval by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB). All candidates will be notified of their status in March 2012.
