To go abroad for more exposure is not a small things. Sometimes some countries invite the other national teachers for working with each other. USIEF, here calls application for Indian teachers for working with American teachers. It cares all our travelling, Lodging, boarding, etc. Pls read this post. USIEF announces 2012 fulbright awards in teaching programme....

Program Description
The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching program, sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, recognizes and encourages excellence in teaching in the U.S. and abroad. It is part of the overall Fulbright Program, named in honor of Senator William Fulbright, which promotes mutual understanding among people of the United States and other countries. The program will send highly accomplished primary to secondary school teachers from the U.S. abroad and bring international teachers to the U.S for a semester-long program. For international teachers, the program is open to teachers from Argentina, India, Israel, Finland, Mexico, Morocco, Singapore and South Africa.
Selected international participants will be placed at a U.S. host university with a respected School of Education from late August to mid-December, 2012. The host university will provide a broad range of resources in the teachers' fields of teaching expertise. The participants will enroll in advanced undergraduate or graduate level classes, team-teach in local schools and/or conduct seminars or workshops for U.S. teachers; and engage in other teaching related activities. During the program Distinguished Teachers will work toward the completion of an action-based research project of their own design. Upon returning home, teachers will be expected to share knowledge and experience gained on the program with teachers and students in their home schools and with their communities.

Grant Benefits
Round-trip economy airfare for the participant 
Room and board for the entire grant period 
Maintenance allowance designed to assist with the costs of food and lodging during the U.S. program 
Distinguished Teachers will also have the opportunity to apply for professional enrichment funds to support development, research, or cover expenses of attending a conference or workshop related to their fields of teaching expertise 
Dependents may accompany program participants. No allowance or travel is provided for dependents. Participants with accompanying dependents will need to demonstrate adequate personal funds to support their stay in the U.S.
Application Procedure 
  Applicants who wish to obtain the relevant application form through e-mail (as an attachment in MS Word format) may send a request to ip@usief.org.in, specifying Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program in the subject line.
Application form can also be obtained in person from a USIEF office. If making a request by mail, send a self-addressed stamped (Rs.45) A4 envelope to the USIEF office in your region. 
All applications, hand delivered or posted, must reach the USIEF, Fulbright House, 12 Hailey Road, New Delhi 110001, no later than October 1, 2011. Please write ATTN: Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching on the envelope.
Selection Procedure and Timeline
Any changes in the dates below will be posted at the USIEF office as well as the USIEF website.
1.  Program announcement:                      May 20, 2011
2.  Application Deadline:                      October1, 2011
3. Screening of applications:                    end October 2011
4.  Call letters for interviews to
     short-listed candidates:                      end October 2011
5. National Interviews in Delhi:                 early December 2011

Fellows will be selected through a merit-based open competition. After the application deadline, USIEF will review all eligible applications. Short listed candidates will be interviewed by a committee in New Delhi which will select nominees whose names will be forwarded to Washington DC for further consideration. Nominees will be required to take the TOEFL examination. Final selections will be made by an independent, U.S.-based selection committee, consisting of program alumni, teachers, and administrators, that will review applications from all participating countries. The Committee will evaluate candidates for their professional qualifications, motivation, seriousness of purpose, adaptability, and commitment to the program as evidenced in their written applications, particularly the action-based research project proposal. The Committee then recommends selected applications for further consideration and approval by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB). All candidates will be notified of their status in March 2012.
