i think you can help me out

To apply PhD, the minimum qualification is MA in related subject with 55% (not around, it should be 55%). And some universities like JNU, New Delhi demand 50% marks to appear for entrance. You need to go through the info. and prospectus of the concerned universities to know about the qualifications.
ReplyDeleteFor sociology, you can apply related subjects also (West Asian Studies, Anthropology, Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, etc). Different Universities invite application in different time. The criteria is also different. Some like Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi conduct an entrance exam and Interview. In Delhi University, some department conduct only interview. Some Universities need an M Phil to apply for PhD. You need to go through their notification. Anyway some Universities like NUEPA provides a sum of Rs. 16000/- for M Phil it self (per month)as scholarship. Along with PhD, all students are bound to get a fellowship. If you have UGC with JRF, you will get around 15000/- per month. Otherwise it is Rs. 5000/- but may be hiked in to 8000/- soon.
Part time PhD is available in some Universities, but most of the universities give it a full time course. You are supposed to be in the campus. And it depends on you and your supervisor. If you have some 'understanding' with him/ her you can work along with PhD. (But it is not a rule).
PhD is a dream to many. It gives a tile of Dr. and most of the central and state universities need this PhD for applying posts in the universities. M Phil is a kind of pre-PhD. It gives much experiences to finish our PhD soon. Otherwise, better is do PhD directly.
thanks for your quarry.
